| Today we will be painting a beach scene with sand ,water, distant hills, a palm tree, rocks and a boat. Our palette will consist of, french ultramarine, burnt umber, raw sienna, light red, lemon yellow, and cobalt blue. |

| First wet the paper with clear water using a mop brush. Sit the back of your board up to obtain an angle of approximately 15 degrees. Use three mixes of paint, alizarin crimsom, raw sienna and french ultramarine with a touch of light red. Using the ultramarine/light red mix start applying a wash from the top. |

| About one third down the paper change your colour to the alizarin crimson mix, overlap so that the colours merge smoothly. Then load your brush with clear water and continue so that the wash graduates to just clear water. |
