| Now lift off your plastic, this is the exciting part. You never know what pattern you will end up with. Mix burnt umber and french ultramarine to give a grey colour, then paint the right hand side of the vase working towards the middle. When you have reached one third across just load your brush with clear water and continue painting , this will give a faded edge as the water dilutes the paint. Continue loading your brush with water until the colour is completely diluted. Now allow this to dry completely. |

| Now re-wet the whole surface again using clear water with your mop brush. Apply lightly so you do not disturb the original paint. Using a small brush and your neat colours straight from the tube or pan add little darker tones where necessary to give shape and form to the blossums. Darken the right side of the vase with your grey mix. Also while the paper is still wet drop some diluted colour into the background, then using the mix of burnt umber/french ultramarine and a touch of alizarin crimson add the vase shadow in the bottom right corner. |
