The Rangiora Art Society in New Zealand organizes regular pleine aire days for its members. Local farm owners are contacted and arrangements are made for the group to visit on a saturday. We find the owners are only too pleased to allow us to paint on their property, and we are given permission to wander around freely over the whole area.

We are never short of subject material: the Baxter's farm at Ashley, Canterbury, NZ had beautiful gardens, a decayed 160 year old cottage, numerous farm implements, rusted 44 gallon drums, and also wonderful views across the countryside.

We always enjoy our painting days, the get together for lunch raises all sorts of topics and jokes. A great time to meet other members and share your art.
