| This is a real simple clamp to build with the added bonus that it really works. One trip to the hardware store, six bucks and five minutes should do it. |
| Materials needed are as follows:
2 Plastic (mine were brand name "Wolfcraft") clamps. They are 3.5 inches long and have an opening of about 1.5 inches. My clamps have suction cups on them but they’re of no use. About 3 feet of 3-wire flexible metal covered wire. I purchased 12/3 according to the hardware store guy's recommendation. 4- #8 x 1.5 screws. |
| How to build:
1: Go to your local hardware store (I went to Canadian Tire for all you fellow Canucks) and find the clamp section. 2: Grab all the small clamps you can find and head over to the electrical department. Try the clamps on the metal covered wire till you find one that lines up with a hole or two on the clamp. Just somewhere you can drive a couple of screws into the end of the wire. The included photos should help to explain this better. 3: Find someone to cut a piece of wire however long you desire. This is the longest part of the construction process. 4: Next stop is the screw department. Buy 4 screws about 1.5 long. 5: You could head next to the screwdriver department and assemble it, but I suggest going home first, unless you need to purchase a screwdriver for the job. 6: Check the images below for construction. 7: Attach a reference to that easel and get to painting!! |
