    "My letters are mainly as a courtesy to friends and associates - answering specific questions, exchanging ideas on creativity, successful systems, motivation and art techniques. They were also follow-ups of information which added to the material in my handbook "The Painter's Keys." Stuff that I had learned since its publication two years ago. I send them for free, with a sense of sharing, but mostly for the fun of it. I start with the proposition that every artist is sovereign and that their integrity is to be preserved and fostered. Professional artists subscribe and exchange ideas and are in turn made aware of new ideas and opportunities. I don't teach really. I spend most of my time painting and travelling but I get a kick out of sharing. I try to give original tips and success methodology that is not commonly available. Each letter is different in content but about the same size (350 words) so it doesn't waste the reader's time. Subjects vary between practical, specific technical input and inspiring systems to promote even more success. I quote from a wide range of artists and thinkers, some of them personal friends in the sisterhood and brotherhood of artists."

Archives of Letters from Years Past:

Robert Genn is one of Canada's most accomplished painters, having gained international recognition for his genre subjects on Canada's West Coast. He has painted in most parts of Canada, and in the United States, Central America, Europe and Asia. Born in Victoria, British Columbia in 1936, he attended Victoria College, The University of British Columbia and The Art Centre School in Los Angeles, California.
Bob carries on the tradition of the Canadian Landscape with fresh, painterly techniques and strong design, often and especially exhibiting his devotion to painting by reducing grand themes to small panels - painted in the wilderness he loves.
