[ Home: Articles: Phyllis Franklin: To Walk and Talk with Monet ]

We also visited Baudy Gardens which is also in the city of Giverny as well as a new garden that is being planned using one of Monet's paintings as inspiration. There were many private gardens that were visible from the street, and of course, the gardens at American Museum. See more photos of these scattered among the conversation with Monet that follows.
Painting Plein air is a special challenge anywhere, but at Monet's garden I felt a reverence that I had not experienced before. Just to think that I was in the gardens that Monet had built and that he had painted was heart wrenching. I was moved to tears many times in thanks to God that he would give us all gifts as these and people to celebrate those gifts with.
Hope you enjoy the pictures I took of the gardens. Now you can walk and talk with Monet, for I have placed some of his words and some of my words beside my photos. Enjoy and fill your palette with his spirit.
