They are open to various interpretations. Most of these mets have been accomplished through water color crayons in various states, with and without other media. Study this one carefully. Here you'll find a man, a woman, and several interpretations (and results) of their love and relationship. From somewhere deep inside the cobwebs of an art teacher's brain, Third Eye Mets -metamorpheses, were born. Anita Stewart has been putting common objects through metamorphoses for years.( not all metamorphosis involve caterpillars changing into butterflies).

While teaching art in an Atlanta private school in 1990, she requested students to make a journal of drawings. Whenever they looked at clouds, leaves in trees and wood grain, they were to record ,draw, what they saw. You've probably done these types of visual exercises yourself. Do you remember lying on the ground and looking up at the sky and gazing at the clouds? "Look at that one , it looks like a lion" or "look at that one ,it looks like my mom's face", you might have remarked to your friend.
She asked her students to record similar pictures they might see using their imagination, their third eye. She thought this would be fun to try herself and found it great therapy and has enjoyed the challenge of performing these metamorphoses. Anita uses her imagination to transform objects such as plastic grocery bags, wads of crumpled up newspaper, piles of washcloths, piles of clothes, towels on a floor, panels in a wooden floor, into unified creations that have a theme or tell a story. Each one is designed to prompt the viewer to use their own third eye.
