If we mix Prussian Blue with Burnt Umber we get a nice dark black. If you do not have Prussian Blue use French ultramarine, this will also produce a dark colour but not quite as black. Paint the birds first and then the rock formation.

Now print out the flying seagull and cut out. One advantage of this method is that you can try the position first and see how it looks before you transfer with your graphite paper.

Final step is to paint our seagull - after you have decided its position.
