| A mix of Burnt Sienna/French Ultramarine is placed along the dry yellow wash. | |
| Using a damp brush, one edge is softened.
Several brush strokes may be required to get softened edge. |

| We now have two bananas separated with a shadow, which also gives one some shape.
Paint could also be applied to dry paper without softening if a sharp edge was required. |
