Sketch was transferred using "graphite transfer paper" to Saunders 300gsm paper.
Size 35cms by 27cms. |

Masking fluid (frisket) is then applied to the apple and the rim of the bowl to preserve the white paper for highlights.
For realism, make a rough jagged edge with the fluid, not a smooth outline. |

A light wash was applied to each item with their lightest basic color. |
