Watercolor Painting, My Way!: Roses : L1

Before we start, I would like to show you some simple leaf management techniques.

Apply a light wash of raw sienna or cadmium yellow.  For an autumn leaf drop in some burnt umber before the first wash dries. Add ultramarine to your mix and apply wash painting around the veins .

Another example , finally producing highlights by wetting area and lifting paint with a tissue.
