Watercolor Painting, My Way!: Rocks and Crevaces: L3/4

Author: Rod Webb, Associate Editor

A mix of burnt umber and ultramarine was used to paint shadow side of rock.

Make sure you use the side of the brush to produce a broken edge on the inner edge of shadow.

Using the same mix, other shadows were painted in the hollows of the rock.
Continue to add shadows and paint thin lines to indicate the cracks in the rock surface.
After the first shadows are dry, add a touch more ultramarine to darken the mix.

Shadows and cracks were darkened in places using this mix.
