Watercolor Painting, My Way!: Rocks and Crevaces: L2/4

As you work down the rocks with the grey mix, drop some burnt umber into the wet wash to vary the color.

Notice the bead of paint collecting at the bottom because the board is tilted. This helps produce a smooth wash.

To give a variation, green and blue were added at random as the wash continues down the rocks.
While the initial wash was still wet, I also dropped in some yellow and added a touch more burnt umber at the top.
We now have our base color applied to the rock surface.
