Watercolor Painting, My Way!: Rocks and Crevaces: L1/4

Author: Rod Webb, Associate Editor

After sketching your rocks, apply clear water to the sky area.
A mix of ultramarine with a touch of light red was applied to the top of sky area (changing to raw sienna wash at horizon).

While the sky was still wet I added a touch of  Light Red to warm slightly.

Sea was painted using mix of ultra marine with touch of yellow, (Blue/green)

Far horizon coast line added with burnt umber (diluted for light wash).

Distant tree line added also.

A mix of ultra marine/burnt umber is required for the rocks.

Apply the wash starting from the top (have your board tilted at an angle of about 15 degrees).
