Watercolor Painting, My Way!:A Fairy in My Garden: L1/15
Author: Rod Webb, Associate Editor
A line Drawing is available for download if you would like to follow along Using wet techniques as described in earlier demos, I placed the color and then using a damp brush I softened the edges where necessary. This gives the fairy some shape and form. Final values will be added after the rest of painting is complete, they will be easier to judge then. Second mix is again burnt umber but with nearly equal portions of ultramarine giving a blue grey.

This Demo is of the painting I completed for our first "Cafe Guerbois Project".

The Drawing was transferred to Saunders 300gsm Not Watercolour Paper using graphite transfer sheets.

I first lightly blocked in the fairy using Gold Ochre.

Burnt unber mix is required with a touch of ultramarine to darken.
