Color placed first then edge softened and manipulated using a damp brush. Or get impatient like I do sometimes and speed up the drying process with the use of a hair dryer.

We now have the lily pads finished with color variation and texture through our scumbling.

The lily flower is painted next , one petal at a time using a mix of light red and alizarin crimson.

One petal at a time. as long as the petals are not touching you can alternate between each one while waiting for the last to dry.

After you have completed all petals with the first application, go back and darken some using a second application of the same mix.
