Watercolor Painting, My Way!:A Fairy in My Garden: L4/15

Author: Rod Webb, Associate Editor

We now have the lily pads finished with color variation and texture through our scumbling.
The lily flower is painted next , one petal at a time using a mix of light red and alizarin crimson.

Color placed first then edge softened and manipulated using a damp brush.

One petal at a time. as long as the petals are not touching you can alternate between each one while waiting for the last to dry.

Or get impatient like I do sometimes and speed up the drying process with the use of a hair dryer.

After you have completed all petals with the first application, go back and darken some using a second application of the same mix.
