Watercolor Painting, My Way!: Clouds: L4

Author: Rod Webb, Associate Editor

If applied reasonably quickly (which will come with practice), the paper will still be wet after applying blue sky areas and sienna base.

If you find that too much sky has been applied, or you want to correct one of the cloud shapes, a tissue could be used to lift some of the paint before the paper dries.
Two spots were dabbed with tissue. You can see the drier spots were the wet wash was lifted.
Leave the board laying flat to dry thoroughly. Now we have a sky with wispy clouds and a light creamy colored horizon ready for our landscape, etc.

Experiment with different blues using varying strengths.

Now let's move on stormy skies!
