| Ok, you have the poster software installed - now let's do a quick demonstration of the steps needed to get this demo image printed out. |

The first thing you need to do is to create an "actual size" image of the picture or painting you want to use. For our demonstration, we will use the Manet drawing. Using Adobe Photoshop, we took our scan of the picture and scaled it to a size of 22 x 17 inches. This, of course, will not fit onto a single sheet of paper! However, this will work nicely, as we will be transferring the picture to a standard 24 x 18 canvas.
To download our version of the enlarged picture, simply click here, or on the image to the left. A new browser window will pop up. Once it has completely loaded, right click on the big image with your mouse, and save it to your hard disk. |

Fire up your newly installed Poster software and follow these steps:
|
| In the dialog box shown above, note the white boxes outlined in blue. This little diagram represents the number and sizes of individual sheets that will be printed. In this case, it will take 9 sheets of standard 8.5 x 11 inch printer paper (4 complete sheets, and 5 partial ones). You might want to select the option above that places cutting lines or corner marks on each page - that will make alignment much easier!
Go ahead and print out the image. When your print job is done, collect your papers from the printer and proceed to step number three! |
