Go get 3 paint brushes, a couple of one inch strips of black construction paper, a fourth of a page of poster board (9X24"), an extra piece of paper to practice on, a cup of water, a plastic picnic plate with water base black ink in two sections, and some glue.
The brushes should be three different sizes. I have used brushes which can be bought for less than three dollars each to demonstrate that you don't have to use expensive bamboo brushes. The big brush is a 1/2 inch flat brush. The medium brush is a number #7 round brush. The little brush is a number #1 round brush.
Start with a scratch sheet of paper to parctice your brush strokes.
First I'll show you how to use the flat brush to practice the bamboo links.
