PRACTICAL APPLICATION 2

Utilising what is left of the background (Fig 6) I isolate (cut out) the red curtain on the left - but as the red was a little too violent for the composition I overlay it with a grey screen.

This screen I distorted hoping to provide balance for the mass of the body on the right. Also I could not resist the emerging from behind the curtain idea. (I was also cognizant that the curtains played a significant part in the original painting). I also wanted to give the design some movement.

Add a frame and ... the result may look a little slick or modern to the traditionalists.

But such is the result for what it is worth.

I added nothing to this picture I just re-arranged the 'deck chairs', but ... I would love to take my brush and highlight ....?

And for the more traditional ... (vertical frame and darker richer Rembrant background)

An abstract interperation would serve a very limited purpose here as any deconstruction
would be simply be mechanical.
